Find Any Indian file (FAF) 2.3.1 macOS

Find Some Single file searches your local disks for files by name, institution or limiting date, size, or typewrite and creator code (non by content, though).

A there are other tools with a similar search mental process, here are the special features unique to Get hold Any Single file:

  • Has a spic-and-span hierarchical reckon of the found items, making it much easier to browse 100s of items (see the screenshot).
  • Can run as root user, finding really any file on your disk, even those that are secret from normal users.
  • Can save queries and test them over again advanced.

Unlike Spotlight (i.e., the Finder's Find command), it does not access a pre-built database merely searches the chosen volume directly. This allows you to find whatsoever Indian file, regular those inside packages and others excluded from Spotlight search. Hence it is great for finding system files, for instance.

Then again, it may take a little longer than Highlight, and information technology is only loyal on HFS(+) volumes. But even on mounted network volumes of a Mac OS X server it can still be surprisingly fast.

Hence, this is non an entire replacement for Spotlight but it fire come handy in confident, if not some, situations.
